THE TREASURE OF
OAK ISLAND

Using the sad, but true, story of a putative treasure island in Nova Scotia, this singing marionette satire in iambic pentameter comes to its own conclusion about those in generations past who leave arch and dastardly signs of treasure, but no valuables.

The Treasure of Oak Island brings to a facsimile of life three classic Franz Kafka tales "The Burrow," "Investigations of a Dog," and "Josephine, the Mouse Singer." Created by Drew Zimmerman with additional puppets by Lee Zimmerman.

Below is the 2008 version of The Treasure of Oak Island. Although I believed by 2020 I could improve on it, the original had a cadre of avid followers when it was shown thrice weekly on the fledgling Lower Merion Township and Narberth public access station, and the animated Lemming Song from this edition had approaching 20,000 views on YouTube. Making a physical puppet version of that number and the lemming finale were probably the most compelling reason I toiled on the remake. --Drew Zimmerman
