VERONICA: That we are able to witness this is some kind of miracle! These denizens of the deep ocean live in a world that's unavailable to the human senses! Life on land and at a depth of 10,000 feet is precisely like parallel universes! The water pressure alone would crush us--like having the Griffith Park Observatory dropped on your head.
Maybe someday we'll have the technology to visit that realm, but the lenses and lights, the tiny portals to peer through, would make the experience a mere analogy to the truth!
VERONICA: What is it, Farnsworth? Where's that good-natured nonchalance?
PHILCO: I never thought the champion of my entire race would be a giant squid! I thought Lou Gehrig, maybe! Who ordered the calamari?
VERONICA: I know it's difficult to imagine how one race views the other, but Farnsworth--isn't it the same thing as the difference between your self-image and the way a woman sees you?
PHILCO: I know. Damp and clingy.
